While I appreciate the thought, the video shows and explains nothing. Maybe TechSmith listens to their beta testers as some other software companies that I've dealt with: they listen to their marketing folks much much more? (And the marketing folks have never used the software.) Rick, is it this challenging on the PC version as well? What you see above looks like I got it but as soon as I tried using it, it was gray with a border and a shadow. Simply, this is very badly designed: from the inability to rename a "theme" to the basic process-procedure to make a theme, it shouldn't be this hard. It was so frustrating that I do not wish to deal with this again. If I was able to change the color, I still had the border, if I changed off of the border I might have a shadow. The problem is I spent about 15 minutes trying to get a Theme that I liked and I could not do it. With your comment that there was some ability to save a style on the PC side I went looking and as opposed to all graphic programs, they do not call it a style, they call it a theme. So Rick, you have an advantage over me, I've never seen the PC version and I over you: you've not seen the Mac version. Otherwise, as you can see from this forum, people are having a variety of issues that need to be addressed. You can't just fix it and not take time to explain what you fixed. Unless, your company does something to resovle the problems and do a better job of communicating with users that purchased this buggy version. A feedback option in the email or app would be also helpful so that as we run into problems, we can send feedback right back to your developers.Īs it is now, I am not using the 2019 because it was too frustrating, and I don't plan to upgrade anymore to any other version, it's money wasted in my opinion. I suggest your company make good use of communicating with those of us who purchased a product that has bugs in it and do all you can to not only resolve the issues, but to keep users informed about the changes and availability of the new product. Also, version change info via email would be helpful as well. It would be nice to get an email whenever you upgrade to improve mistakes. Luke, I don't recall each problem, but I just gave up on using it and am sorry I paid for the upgrade. It's too bad I can't fully use Snagit either due to flawed version, or options that are confusing. In snagit, its such a cumbersome effect, that I copy things from snagit into photoshop and create my own effects. ![]() I use Photoshop a lot, and use Photoshop's dropshadow layer style, or, I create my own drop shadows from scratch. This is a flaw that resulted from people asking for lots of options and TechSmith folks making it default instead of optional. In the 2019 version I started to save favorites to avoid all the default sets, but now, each time I want to use a font, I have to fiddle with the settings. ![]() I paid (regretfully) for Snagit 2019, and it has the favorite option, but since I had problems with that version, I'm back to snagit 2018 and don't have the favorite choice. So, that is my point, let the user decide what is to be used instead of having defaults that you have to undo. I sometimes get confused by the difference between "Outline" and "fill", they seem to do the same thing. However, now that we are on the subject, this outline feature seems to have been created as a default instead of optional default. Had I been here during people's requests for some features, I doubt I'd have objected, the more options the better. I've been using Snagit for a few years, and only in the past year or so have been actively reading this forum.
